The Incas called this the ´Sacred´ Valley because it was there that they developed a rich agricultural society, and built fortresses and different complexes, like Pisac and Ollantaytambo, each place with thousands of stories to tell. Many adventures take place in the Sacred Valley and you can experience different sportive activities such as hiking, canooping or rafting on the Urubamba river. From Ollantaytambo you can take the train to go to Aguas Calientes to spend the night there and visit Machu Picchu. We would be pleased to help you organize any of these arrangements!

On the first day at 09:00am in the morning we pick you up from your hotel and go by bus into the Sacred Valley. Where we visit Pisac and pasing through Coya, Lamay and Calca. In the nice town of Urubamba we have lunch in a touristic restaurant before finally going to Ollantaytambo, where you board your train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Town) in the afternoon. On arrival you will be met (by a representative, holding a sign board with your name on it) and brought to your hotel.

01 DAY

Pisac Market & Ruins
The town of Pisac is an important archaeological site in the region of Cusco. Once it controlled a strategic point on the road wich connectet the Inca Empire with Paucartambo. Apart from the visit of the citadel Pisac is mostly visited for its colorful market, which takes place: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays in the morning.

It takes a good climb to reach the citadel when you are heading up through the agricultural terrasses, which a re still in use. To walk through these ancient ruins and be able to enjoy this astounding view from the citadel, it is well worth to make the effort und climb up there.

Ollantaytambo
Was build as an Inca administrative centre rather than a town and was also the gateway to the Antisuyo (the Amazon corner of the Inca Empire) and a centre for tribute- gathering from the surrounding valleys. Today you can still see local woman wearing traditional clothing, red and black skirts with zigzag patterns and their typicall hats. Ollantaytambo is one of the few places that the Spaniards lost a battle during the conquest.

The fortress built by the Inca Pachacutec, sits on solid stone terraces. You will explore the Temple of the Sun, the Royal Hall, waterfountains, the Incahuatana and the Banos de la Princesa (Princess Baths). It is a beautiful setting and the hills that surround it hide some of the most impressive ruins in the Valley.

When you leave the fortress make sure to visit the nearby market as there are some beautifull handicrafts and woven clothing to bargain.

02 DAY

Early morning we take the first bus at 05:30 am to be in Machu Picchu as soon as the sun comes up. Due to the early time of the day we will provide you with a snack instead of a full breakfast at the hotel.

During a tour of the ruins of Machu Picchu, our experienced bilingual guide will explain all about the history and explain the most important sites of this amazing place. The guided tour will last approx. 2 hours and afterwards you will have enough time to explore the site on your own and if you like you have time to climb Huayna Picchu (the mountain within the site of Machu Picchu, from where you have an amazing view over the site) and can make pictures from the whole Sanctuary. Please let us know at the time of your booking if you are interested in the climb as we need to obtain a permit for you. The climb will take about 50 min one way.

After enjoying the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu you can take the bus down to Aguas Calientes to enjoy a meal in one of the various restaurants, enjoy a dip in the nearby hot springs (meal and entrance not included) or spend some time in the town.
